After their 2021 debut release of mostly standard classical repertoire, the pandemic duo comes back with a unique collection, exploring sonic and creative freedom within composed works. This carefully curated program connects a wide range of works from five composers, including musician-philosopher John Cage, Estonian minimalist Arvo Pärt, celebrated Calgary composer-pianist Mark Limacher, and the enigmatic Toru Takemitsu. This album also includes an expression of the duo's musical voice as improvisers in a live recording of Pauline Oliveros’ work “Thirteen Changes.” Expanding on their base of flute/violin instrumentation, Who Cares? adds the timbres and tones of Rhodes piano and synthesizer to their palette, resulting in a varied and unique sound world for this latest collection.
